Enough!

I held a political sign on a downtown street corner and waved at rush hour drivers heading home. Some of them waved back, some even honked with enthusiasm. Our group was small but we had a huge message: 
  •   War is Not the Answer
  •   Bush lied, 3600 died -- (as of 8/16/07 4000 of us and perhaps 400,000 Iraqis!)
  •   ENOUGH
  •   No Blood for Oil
  •   Stop the War on Iraq
  •   There's Dirt Under Every BUSH
  •   Impeach Bush and Cheney
This was yesterday near Barbara Boxer's San Diego office, in appreciation of our dauntless Senator and in support of the Senate all-nighter. The effort and mingling with like-minded activists was exhilarating. However, come this morning there was NO revolution. Only same-old/same-old: rational, caring, peace-motivated progressives in numbers too few to overcome the posturing of the Bushites and the muttering/mumbling/stumbling of the testosterone-driven conservatives.

Ah but, just as in the Vietnam era, we the people will not be deterred. We know the truth -- that this president is the worst in history, that he took us to war on lies and that the military-industrial complex with Halliburton flag flying high is our mortal enemy -- not Iraq nor indeed any country on earth.

Help spread the word and get us out of Iraq!
