I just sent fan mail to Newsweek columnist Anna Quindlen for a magnificent piece she just wrote. She details the story of a video currently on YouTube. It seems a "roving reporter" approached demonstrators in front of an abortion clinic in Libertyville, IL (of all places!) He asked people what the penalty should be when they managed to make abortion illegal. "Come on, now, how much jail time should a woman who commits the crime do?"

Well, they were dumbfounded. None had ever thought about it.
Aha! This is the perfect rational point to make in the insane argument.

Oh my yes, Anna Quindlen, this was a wonderful article! You've helped disperse the
first bit of rational thought injected into the idiotic abortion debate.

That politicians or superjudges presume to legislate or pronounce what individual women can and can't do with their bodies is just purely disgusting! These misguided mostly "stupid white men" (quoth Michael Moore) just hate the fact that women will not go back to being in harness to them!

But yes the idea of throwing women who have abortions in prison may indeed bring them to their senses.
