In Other Words ...

My last post has prompted more than a few comments, some saying they don't get the point ...

The point of learning what Hillary really said before the Senate ballot on the Iraq situation in October 2002 (the actual vote was 77 for; 22 against the resolution) is this: Hillary believed that the President of the United States was an honest person. Neither Hillary nor the rest of the Senators, Representatives nor, indeed, we American people, could have imagined in our wildest nightmares that the Rove/Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld would-be oligarchy would do what they did:
  • Callously avoid diplomacy, inspections and the United Nations
  • Maliciously lie about WMD in Iraq
  • Deliberately ignore (or worse, falsify) intelligence reports
  • Falsely claim that Saddam Hussein was responsible for "9/11"
  • Illegally initiate a first strike war -- the pre-emption that Hillary pointedly rejected
In other words, Hillary was deceived. Big time. And so successful was this Administration's duplicitous plan that to this day, many Americans still believe the falsehoods. This is yet another of the ways that George W. Bush has stolen the best aspects of our country, destroyed our reputation abroad and dug holes so deep in our minds that believing what anyone in government says is no longer simple or easy.

We are in a deplorable situation but there are things we can do:

1. Spread the word.
2. Champion separation of powers (3 distinct branches of government, no King).
3. Let your elected representatives know your feelings.
4. Support Hillary for President.

Hillary is:
The only one with the experience/background/resolve to get us on track.
The only one who has worked daily in the West Wing of the White House,.
The only one who has met with the citizens, diplomats, heads of state in 80 countries.
The only one who works on the Armed Services Committee and believes war is a LAST resort.
The only one who always has the good of all the people foremost on her mind.

Positively,
Carolan
