The Latest Rove Raving

When Karl Rove resigned a year ago (at last) George Skirkanich commented in the Denver Post: “Rove’s legacy is an easy one to assess.

"He is simply the propagandist who convinced Americans that George W. Bush was a strong leader, capable of protecting us from terrorist threats to us from all the boogie men out there who seek to destroy us. He successfully duped us all into believing that our president was a competent and effective leader and that we would be safer with him at the helm. Of course, this was exposed as utter nonsense …”

Unfortunately, retirement didn't stop this premier purveyor of hate and stupidity. He does not take the hint to shut his mouth and slink away.

Instead, hot off the presses today: Christianne Klein of ABC News reports on Rove’s latest verbal abuse. This time a nasty slap at Obama: "Even if you never met him, you know this guy," Rove said, "He's the guy at the country club with the beautiful date, holding a martini and a cigarette that stands against the wall and makes snide comments about everyone who passes by."  He followed up with advice that McCain "needs to come right at him." He referred to the latest Newsweek poll showing Obama with a 15-point lead over McCain as nonsense, "though he used a more scatological synonym."

But who, pray tell, is Rove at this country club?

  • The guy telling funny stories near the band?
  • The charming president of the club's philanthropic arm?
  • The brainy guy with all the sports scores

Or the guy who vandalizes your car and blames it on the kitchen staff?

Positively,
Carolan
