So Said Sarah !?!

I admit it, I can't resist reading ever more about Sarah, the quintessential cheerleader if ever there was one. I mean, GWB was actually a cheerleader and oh how it shows. Whereas Sarah was in actuality not a cheerleader but a (failed) beauty queen. What, you ask, is the difference? I would say not too damn much -- starting with the irrationality of their religious beliefs, not to mention the insufferable smirk each has cultivated throughout life. Not to mention that neither thinks before blurting. And both seem to believe that saying something makes it true.

Rational thought is the very foundation of this country. But I wonder if the minds of our citizens have been spirited away when I read all the happy talk about Sarah.

American voters, pay attention, please. This embarrassment to my gender prancing and dancing on the national scene is a disgusting JOKE who honestly believes the following (quoted from "What It's Like to Debate Sarah Palin" by Andrew Halco, Alaska state representative):

"Andrew, I watch you at these debates with no notes, no papers, and yet when asked questions, you spout off facts, figures, and policies, and I'm amazed. But then I look out into the audience and I ask myself, 'Does any of this really matter?' "

While policy wonks such as Biden might cringe (and I must interject, ALL thinking human beings as well), it seemed to me that Palin was simply vocalizing her strength without realizing it. During the campaign, Palin's knowledge on public policy issues never matured – because it didn't have to. Her ability to fill the debate halls with her presence and her gift of the glittering generality made it possible for her to rely on populism instead of policy.

Halco goes on, saying, "Palin is a master of the nonanswer."

And if that's who this country wants at the very top of the government, all I can say is heaven help us!

Positively,
Carolan
