Let's Hear It for Age!
Buoyed by the advent of the MAC (Major Administration Change), I find myself realizing my own personal good fortune. First, to have reached and surmounted so-called middle age with a nimble mind intact. To have (by pure happenstance) gotten into computers way back in '84 in a great temp job at Portland's Pacific Power. And to be way beyond worrying what other people think or whether I might not succeed at something I want to do.
On the downside, I'm a lifelong non-mechanical person and have been on my own for a long time. (I didn't hang my first picture 'till I was 31 and it took half a dozen nail holes to accomplish the task.) So I still struggle with mundane chores like mounting a wall mirror or assembling things. And indeed my world today seems chock full of things that need assembly!
The good news is that I just succeeded in assembling something unique -- a USB turntable. This wonderful device is leading me to turn my old cherished vinyl record albums into cd's or to convert them to mp3 files, needed for importing to this very blogcast or my new website in progress.
Listen and stay tuned ...
