A while back I heard about a band that captured my imagination.
The Get A Life Marching Band hails from Portlandl, my home town.
And here's what they say about themselves: 

We were all in high school or college marching bands. 
We still haven't gotten over it. 
We'd rather miss a note than a meal!
We're an eating band with a marching disorder.

On January 20, 2009 the Get a Life Band lent their inimitable style to the Presidential Inaugural Parade. I contributed to th e cause and if I were still in Portland I would've been with them in DC -- I might be over-age but I can still march and twirl a baton.
