Mônica Feijó from Rio de Janeiro taught me everything I know of Portuguese language and in the process became a friend. And I learned that she's not only a teacher but an amazing chef and an upbeat character as well. So when Mônica said come to her birthday party, I gladly went. And what a party it was. Of course she was late -- she IS Brazilian, after all. But an eclectic assemblage of people began to gather in and around Coastal Sage Gardening on Voltaire Street. And when Mônica drove up she had a carload of Greek dishes she had prepared. Enough food for the proverbial army. And all scrumptious!
