Convoluted thinking to ponder ...
I just heard Conservative columnist George Will make this pronouncement in regard to health care reform: "Well, you know, Republicans believe there's a reason things are the way they are." And he went on to talk about how complicated the subject is.
But wait a minute. If this is so complicated and there's a reason things are the way they are -- then how in good conscience did the same Republicans happily/easily/blithely do away with so many long-existing laws? Laws on complicated matters. Laws that provided legal protections for citizens.
Apparently where it comes to corporations, banks, insurance companies and the "top 1 percenters" who keep getting richer, "Things are the way they are for a reason" seems NOT to apply.
And that's not counting the insecurities of these "stupid white men" (thank you, Michael Moore) that underpin their desire to return to their imagined yesteryear of subservience from women, people of color and all the have-not's.
The horrendous lies they tell. The fear they want to instill. They are unconscionable and don't have the decency to be ashamed of themselves.
I wonder what will it take -- an uprising of the rational?
Spread the word,
