Liquids only!
Tomorrow afternoon I must go for a big-deal medical test -- one that requires ingestion of liquids only for a day and a half. Urgh!
This is decidedly not fun -- even though it may take me down another couple pounds, which would be wonderful! But it would be easier if I were into meditation instead of go-go attitudes.
And where the procedure happens is also not a happy story. I must journey all the way to Otay Mesa. But of course driving home is not allowed, so I have hired a driver.
Now the odd thing is that the procedure will cost me $15 -- thanks to UCSD's fantastic Kaiser coverage! -- but the transportation there and back could be in the neighborhood of $100.
So what do I do on a day that I cannot EAT? Well, first thing was cleaning out piles of old articles and file folders full of stuff I no longer need -- such as retirement information for Panama or Costa Rica or Belize or Brazil. Sigh ...
And now there's at least 2 books I'm in the middle of -- not to mention old movies and long-loved music (like Montego Bay below, a back-in-the-day hit that I remember moving to on a beach). Plus should I get truly ambitious, I could get back to the Amazements of the Left Coast website. I already have lots of potential California and Washington details stashed in a pile -- now it's just sort and start keying.
Meantime, my fingers are decidedly crossed that the test will say I'm perfectly healthy.
Positively,
Carolan
