"It was Dracula running the blood bank." In this 'biting' sentence, Jimmy Buffett indicts George W. Bush for the lack of common sense, judgment and (most of all) oversight that led to the Deepwater Horizon disaster. As Buffett adds, "To me it was more about eight years of bad policy before (Obama) got there that let this happen."
Yes, the Bush Administration was often criticized for their coziness with the petroleum industry. But have they taken any responsibility for what has happened and what continues to happen to our precious country? In a pig's you-know-what!
As for Buffett, who was born on the Gulf Coast and has lived all over it, he muses, "People were going, 'What are you going to do about things?' I mean,hell, I can't stick my finger in that hole. Everybody wishes they could."
But on Sunday he's throwing a concert, bringing together his Coral Reef Band and many other musicians and likely thousands of Gulf Coast residents who need his uplifting spirit. Where? Right on the beach in Gulf Shores, Alabama -- a place that's been sporadically hit by oil for weeks.
Ok, in the meantime, how about some wonderful Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Attitudes?
