More than Wonderment

My mental powers have now gone way beyond wondering ... Just how in hell has the United States of America come to be this?
  • A place with insulated enclaves of wealthy, privileged and protected "HAVES" -- individuals and corporations -- while down below huddle hordes of the former middle class being pushed out to join the angry ocean of the terminal underclass. Out of jobs, out of money, out ofr hope.
  • .A place where the rage-filled, under-educated and misinformed yell the loudest -- supporting only whites, only their brand of religion, their brand of government -- or NONE, heaven help us! -- only themselves, no matter what.
  • A place where civility is a foreign word, diversity an unknown concept and ethics -- are you joking?
A century ago my grandparents or great-grandparents came to the US from Europe believing as all immigrants do that here they would have a better life. And, indeed, they did.  But could they see and hear the disgusting dysfunction of today, they would be in tears -- as am I -- and rightfully so.
