I will soon take off on the absolute pinnacle of my travels! First I fly through Newark to Barcelona, where I will stay in a small hotel in Barri Gotic (Barcelona's Old Town) and see the sights for 3 days. Then -- drumroll! -- I embark on Norwegian Cruise Lines JADE for an amazing 12-day cruise to:

• Rome -- have wanted to go since living in France years ago
• Athens
• Ephesus (Turkey)
• Alexandria & Cairo --  passionate about Egypt forever
• Malta
• Barcelona

At the end I fly to Fort Lauderdale for time in the sun and with adopted grandson Troy, his better half Jenn and my first great-grandson, Trevor.

Finally home with a few days to recuperate before heading to the office.

Years ago I was on a 25-day tour through Portugal, Spain and over to Tangier, Morocco. But I’ve never taken so long a trip since – and I was way younger then. At least on a cruise I can flake out easily, especially with my cool balcony stateroom. And for sure I will be shooting beaucoup pictures and doing regular breathless blog posts. So stay tuned ...
