I can scarcely believe what I heard today. That the House of Representatives passed a bill that not only would disallow any government funding of abortions but would rescind tax credits for small businesses that provide employee health
coverage, if it includes abortion. Not to mention that individuals would no longer be able to deduct abortions as part of their medical expenses or, indeed, the cost of their insurance if it includes abortion coverage. And, yes, I was alternately laughing and screaming at the radio.
There is NO rational thought behind anything these people do! The only explanation is that these mainly white men are so insecure that they want the clock turned back to the 19th century. In that era -- at least in their befuddled minds -- they were Kings. Their women did what they were told to do, did not get out in the world and mingle or become educated or express their own opinions. And women with their own needs? Unheard of!
If these loony-tunes should ever be on their way to getting their own way in preventing sex education, contraception, abortion -- then I say WE pass a law that decrees they take physical and monetary care on a 24/7 basis of every child born as a result of their laws.
