Your article was excellent and right on the mark! And after reading a couple comments that made no sense I had to post my response:

The original article is profoundly true And it cannot be said any more clearly than this ... Over the past 50 years since I have been voting, the Republican party has been ONLY for the white, the wealthy, the corporations, oh and of course War. Virtually ALL civil rights legislation during this period of time and what's now called "entitlements" -- Social Security and Medicare, which of course are programs that we pay into and that work -- came to be because a Democratic President and Congress made "us" the 99% a priority!

(Plus as I have been reminded the help of a few unusual Repub’s along the way who were indeed compassionate.)
