Rich getting richer -- the poor ?

I just signed a petition against a measure that is imminently set to take effect. It radically reduces the income tax rates for Oregon's wealthiest people, while doing nothing to ease the burden on others or to supply desperately needed funds in such areas as education, healthcare, food for the hungry and homelessness.
I included a brief personal note:
Not only is a reduction in taxes for the wealthy a bad idea at this time. Eventual armed revolution will be the outcome in the US if the rich continue reaping ALL the available riches and the poor get nothing -- except perhaps access to guns.
